Dream of getting away to write, but need guidance and next steps for your novel or literary piece? A writing retreat might just be the answer you need. Hotel Walloon is offering an inspiring, intimate, and collaborative setting to work alongside other writers who are seeking stimulation and ideas for their literary works.
As a nod to Walloon Lake’s most recognized summer resident Ernest Hemingway, we have invited Cristen Hemingway Jaynes (great granddaughter to Ernest Hemingway) to lead the writers’ workshops and activities hosted throughout the weekend. She is the author of Ernest’s Way: An International Journey Through Hemingway’s Life (Pegasus Books; December 2019) a guide and literary exploration into the cities Hemingway visited and lived in, both as they are now and as they were when he graced them.
The Walloon Writers Retreat will begin Friday evening (3/4) and continue through Sunday early afternoon (3/6). Collaborative and solo writing sessions will be the focus of the weekend. The weekend packages start at $350.00 and includes a hotel room, retreat costs, an autographed book from Cristen Hemingway Jaynes, a Hemingway Tour hosted by the Michigan Hemingway Society, and unique locations around the quaint Village to write and foster inspiration.
