Since 1975, the Walloon Lake Trust and Conservancy has protected the natural beauty, character and quality of lands and waters in the Walloon Lake watershed. Books by Walloon Lake’s most noted summer resident, Ernest Hemingway, also make great gifts. The Nick Adams Stories is a perfect choice, as many of the characters and settings in these short stories are set in local woods and waters. The Michigan Hemingway Society even has a self-guided “Michigan Hemingway Tour” map that you can use to explore the communities where this Nobel and Pulitzer Prize winning author spent the first 22 summers of his life!
